Lincoln County Middle School is excited to welcome rising 6th graders and their families to our 6th-grade orientation. This event is designed to give students and parents a detailed preview of what to expect in middle school—before the hustle and bustle of Open House. The orientation offers a comprehensive overview of the middle school experience.
The goal of 6th Grade Orientation is to help ease the transition into middle school by providing an overview of daily life at LCMS, including class schedules, arrival and dismissal procedures, lunch routines, and transportation guidelines for both bus and car riders. Families also receive critical information about attendance policies, make-up work, and how tardies are handled.
In addition to school routines, the presentation covers expectations for behavior, dress code, locker use, and cell phone policy. Families will also learn about the various opportunities available to students, including clubs, sports, and academic recognition programs such as the Honor Roll and Super 6th Grader rewards. The orientation highlights how parents stay informed throughout the year using the Parent Portal, school website, and social media. Health and safety procedures, including medication policies and immunization requirements, are also reviewed.
Parents are encouraged to join the Parent-Teacher Partnership (PTP) to stay involved and connected to school events.
Attending the LCMS 6th Grade Orientation is an excellent way for students and families to start the school year informed and confident. We look forward to seeing you there and working together to make this a successful and exciting year at Lincoln County Middle School.
